Al-Rathath Establishment, Kuwait, is all set to host fun-filled and exciting event, its first ever maiden Throwball Tournament at American International School grounds, Maidan Hawally, on Friday, April 16, 2010. The tournament will commence at 8 am. and will continue throughout the day. Through this event the organizers of Al-Rathath are aiming to create a sportsmanship environment for girls and women of Indian community in Kuwait irrespective of their age, caste, religion, culture & also provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents through this sport.

The organizers have drafted certain rules and regulations to avoid disputes and the teams are expected to go through these rules prior to the commencement of the tournament.


Registration fees of KD. 10/- will be levied for participating teams in the tournament.

The fixtures will be taken on April 14, 2010, at 6 pm. sharp by the participating team captains /players (location will be informed later).

Winners will be awarded with the Al-Rathath Trophies.

Rules for Al-Rathath Ladies THROWBALL Tournament:

(1) Each Throwball Team shall consist of 7 players and 2 substitutes.

(2) League level matches will be played with best of three games for tennis 15 points. The Semi Finals and Finals will be played with best of three games for tennis 21 points.

(3) Referee's decision is final.

(4) In case of a player is injured, she should be replaced only with a substitute player listed.

(5) Please wait for the "whistle" from the referee before you serve.

(6) Call out the score & the word "PLAY" loudly before you serve. If not, the ball shall be passed on to the opposite team.

(7) Stepping on the line while serving is OUT. So better watch your line before you serve.

(8) Under arm serve & throws are considered "FOUL".

(9) Service on the line or any other ball on the line, excluding Box line is "RIGHT".

(10) Stepping inside the box while receiving OR throwing the ball shall be given "FOUL".

(11) Any ball that falls inside the box is "OUT".

(12) Double touch, Body touch & throwing the ball with two hands is "FOUL".

(13) Double jump is not allowed, either while throwing or receiving the ball.

(14) Twisting or rolling of the ball while receiving is "FOUL".

(15) Only one step is allowed while throwing the ball.

(16) Slight delay in returning the ball will also be considered "FOUL".

(17) Tossing the ball (except for the service ball) to different hands is not allowed for more than three times.

(18) One "time-out" for each team in a set shall be permitted and the duration of each "time-out" shall be 30 secs.

(19) Court size measurement will be 60 x 30 feet including 3 feet Box line (1 ½” on each side). Net height is 7 Feet.

Repeated arguments with the referees, line men and the organizers will not be entertained and it may lead to disqualification of the team.

In case of any clarifications only the captains can represent.
