The holy month of Ramadan will likely begin on Aug 11 in accordance to astronomic calculations, said astrologist Adel Al-Saadoun yesterday. Al-Saadoun said that the crescent of Ramadan would be form on Tuesday, Aug 10 at 6:01 am, making Wednesday the first day of the holy month in Kuwait. However, the astrologist noted that this is a matter of huge debate amongst Muslims worldwide. The holy month of Ramadan is an annual occasion where Muslims around the global fast from dawn till dusk, refraining from food, water and marital activities. Muslims also perform extra prayers during this month in addition to other duties. |
