VenalThanima 2010, which imparted knowledge, lessons and values for life along with fun and frolic to the participants, came to a colorful close at United Indian School Abbassiya on Saturday evening. The valedictory function of this three day summer personality development workshop for students was organized by the participants. Captain Narasimham, technical advisor, Kuwait Airways, inaugurated the concluding session presided over by Anju Varghese. The program started with a prayer song by Reshma Mariam. Justin Joseph George moved a motion of condolence in the sad demise of Mr. M.G Radhakrishnan, acclaimed film music director. A stage presentation and a skit directed and presented by the students, conveyed the messages of charity and life’s goals, attracted the attention of the audience. Songs by Dhanya and Baburaj Palluruthy amused the audience. Sandra Mariyam Santo, Anupama Anilkumar, Jacob Thomas, representative of THANIMA, Maju Karippal, General Convenor, VenalThanima 2010, Babuji Bathery, Camp Designer, Manoj Mavelikara, Camp in Charge and John Kunnil, parents’ representative addressed the gathering. Suraj K. Abraham and Aleena Ann Bijoy were masters of ceremonies. Trophies and certificates to the participants were also distributed at the function. Bazlin Biju and Anju Vargese are selected as camp boy and camp girl. ‘Achievers’ is the best group. Participants shared their pleasure and enthusiasm they attained from the workshop by singing the world cup football anthem, “Waka Waka”. Dr. Sanjeev Kurup (Agriculture and Children), Captain Sreekumar, Aviation Technology Expert (Introduction to Aviation Technology), Cherthala Jayadevan, Lecturer of Music, University of Kerala, and Kottayam Santhosh (Ragam Thalam), K.T Varghese(Winners and Losers), Shenzai Varghese (Aerobics), Shaiju Pallippuram, Prathapan and Sreenath (Introduction to Music) were among who handled various sessions. Practical lessons on personality development, goal setting and success in Life were inculcated to the students through group activities and games. A visit to Kuwait Danish Dairy, conducted as part of VenalThanima 2010, was a unique experience to all who took part in the three day workshop. The group activities in the workshop were coordinated by Raghunathan Nair, Philip J. Panicker, Jerry John Koshy, Shaji Nagaroor, Shaji Varghese, Jins Mathew, Peter Ezhupunna, Jojimon, Geomon Joseph and Jomon Mankuzhikary. |
